BiuLens Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the BiuLens Chrome extension (“BiuLens”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you install and use the extension. By using BiuLens, you agree to this Policy.

1. Who we are

BiuLens is published by the developer account shown on the BiuLens listing in the Chrome Web Store. BiuLens helps cross-border sellers inspect Alibaba International shopfronts and product link quality in the browser, with optional connection to a backend API that you configure.

2. Information we process

Depending on how you use BiuLens, we may process the following categories of information:

• Configuration you provide. Optional GraphQL API Base URL, Bearer Token, and preferences such as log level and selected evaluate rules. These values are stored in Chrome extension storage on your device.
• Local analysis data. Recent link-quality or sample-analysis reports and cached category schema, stored locally in your browser.
• Page information used for analysis. Product and shop information that is available on Alibaba International pages you open. This information is processed in the browser to generate analysis results.
• Seller session cookies (feature-specific). Only when you use category-schema collection or related account-switch features. Cookies are used solely to access seller-side pages that your existing login already permits.

BiuLens does not require you to create a BiuLens account. You may use core offline features without configuring a backend API.

3. How we use information

We use the information described above only to:

• provide shop insights, link quality checks, and sample analysis;
• optionally sync evaluate rules and category schema with the backend API that you configure;
• remember your preferences and recent local reports on your device.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use extension data for unrelated advertising or for profiling unrelated to BiuLens features.

4. Network requests and third parties

• Alibaba International domains (*.alibaba.com): used to read pages and call endpoints required for BiuLens features on product, shop, and group pages.
• Your configured API host: used only after you save an API Base URL and grant the corresponding host permission. Requests use your Bearer Token to call GraphQL APIs that you control or that your organization operates.

If you connect BiuLens to a third-party or organization-operated backend, that backend’s own privacy terms also apply to data processed on that server.

5. Storage and retention

Settings and local caches remain on your device until you clear extension data, remove local caches in BiuLens Options, or uninstall the extension. We do not operate a separate BiuLens cloud account database for end users. Any server-side retention for a connected API is governed by the operator of that API.

6. Your choices

• Leave the backend API unconfigured and use offline / local-rules mode.
• Clear local schemas or reports in extension Options.
• Revoke optional host permissions under chrome://extensions → BiuLens → Details.
• Uninstall BiuLens to remove its local extension storage.

7. Children’s privacy

BiuLens is intended for business / professional use and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top of this page will be revised when changes are posted. Continued use of BiuLens after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
